For Middle School Boys with high school counselorsJune 21st-24th, 2015 This year, Camp Mountaineer wants the middle school boys to have a first-hand experience of the joy they can give if they are generous. The camp's theme is Hobbit-esque. We call it: "The Battle of Eight Armies". The kids will work as teams to earn their dwarf, hobbit, and elf costumes throughout camp. Our treasure under the mountain will be a room stuffed with thousands of dollars worth of prizes. But just as peace and prosperity came to middle earth when the dwarves learned to share their wealth, we will be bringing the kids to a children’s hospital on the last day to deliver those toys to each patient personally - decked out as characters straight from the book! My hope is that they experience the joy of generosity and see that they, too, can make a difference. (The kids don’t know about the hospital part yet, so please keep that secret.) I am so excited! -From Camp Director Br Kevin Gore, LC Check it out at http://campmountaineer.weebly.com/
